The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia Los Angeles will organize a roundtable discussion and dinner that involves members of the Indonesian and United States film communities on Sunday, Oct 4th, 2009. The program will be held at The Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, 1755 North Highland Ave. Hollywood, Los Angeles, California 90028, at 15.00 – 19.00.
The topic of discussion would be “Exploring Challenges and Opportunities to Enhance Relations between Indonesia - U.S. Film Industry”. The program features remarks by Consul General Subijaksono Sujono, keynote speech by key officials from the Department of Culture and Tourism of Indonesia, and presentations by distinguished speakers of both from Indonesian and U.S. film/broadcasting communities such as Mr. Peter F. Gontha, Mr. Rudy Sanyoto and Ms. Chrsitine Hakim, Mr. Jon Turteltaub, Mr. James Chean and several other outstanding speakers.
Due to the recent emergence of the Indonesian film industry and newfound enthusiasm of Indonesians in local cinema offerings, this event is designed to be one of the bridging platforms for film industry of both countries. Through this event, mutual understanding, possible cooperation and new horizons would hopefully be explored so that the relations of both film industries would enhance in line with the currently improved level of bilateral relations between Indonesia and the United States.
